It's your last chance to nominate for the Wealth Professional Awards

Nominations for the 2026 Wealth Professional Awards close tonight – and if you’ve been meaning to put forward an outstanding advisor, team, dealer, or leader, this is your final reminder to act.

Now in their 12th year, the awards have become a benchmark for excellence and innovation across Canada’s wealth management sector.

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the industry’s top performers will come together at Toronto’s Liberty Grand to celebrate the individuals and organisations who are redefining advice, elevating client outcomes, and pushing the profession forward.

For long-time sponsor FP Canada, the awards are a way to advance financial planning as a profession and a public good.

FP Canada president and CEO Tashia Batstone says it’s crucial to recognize the value planners deliver and “celebrate this commitment of financial planning professionals to high quality support for their clients, for Canadians.”

Honouring excellence, she argues, helps raise the profile of a profession that serves the public interest and turns financial knowledge into real “financial impact” in people’s lives.

Another long-standing sponsor, Franklin Templeton, uses the awards to highlight innovation in how Canadians receive advice and solutions.

“We want to celebrate, we want to reward, acknowledge, recognize others in the industry who are moving the business forward as well, who are helping Canadians achieve their financial goals,” says Dennis Tew, head of National Sales for Canada.

By backing the Dealer of the Year category, the firm is putting the spotlight on dealers that have had to reinvent themselves in recent years and build the platforms and processes that let advisors deliver better outcomes at scale.

Both sponsors see the gala as a rare chance to bring the industry together in one room, recognise the people driving change, and celebrate the work being done for Canadians.

As Tew puts it, “We’re an industry that serves people. And recognizing the people that are bringing excellence to that goes a long way.”

If you’re an advisor, planner, portfolio manager, dealer, executive, or part of an in-house team, a nomination can:

  • Showcase your achievements and impact on a national platform

  • Strengthen your professional profile and your firm’s brand

  • Highlight the work you do for clients and your wider community

  • Recognise peers, partners or team members who genuinely go above and beyond

Many past nominees say the simple act of preparing a nomination forced them to step back and see their work in context – the changes they’ve made for clients, the investments they’ve made in their teams, and the ways they’ve adapted in a changing market.

Nominations for the 2026 Wealth Professional Awards close today, February 13, at 11:59 pm ET.

After that, submissions will be reviewed, Excellence Awardees will be announced, and the journey to the June 4 gala will begin.
